2014 Sale Results

The 39th Annual Lopez, Meyer & Lauing Quarter Horse Production Sale was held in Faith SD on Saturday August 30. Buyers filled the barn to the rafters and phone bidders participated from as far away as Florida as Lynn Weishaar auctioneered and John E. Johnson was in charge of the pedigrees. 85 head of weanlings, yearlings, broke horses and bred mares sold to the highest bidders from Bob & Karen Meyer of Glad Valley SD, Denny & Doris Lauing (Lauing Mill Iron L Ranch) of Sturgis SD and Lee Lopez of Meadow SD. Guest consigners included Bob & Jan Quickstad of Whitewood SD, Arlen Hulm, Arlie & Skyler Hulm of Faith SD and Archie Hulm of Timerlake SD.

The top 5 weanlings averaged $3,060. Kylee Habeck of Aberdeen was the successful bidder of $3,400 on the high selling stud colt Lot 51 (sired by Colonel Frenchman X Kip E Chrome) offered by Denny & Doris Lauing. Lot 29 Perty Northern Fox, a dun stud colt (sired by SNW Northern Frost X Frosts Dun Polly) of Bob & Karen Meyer’s program followed closely at $3,300 going to John Hoven a repeat buyer of Little Eagle SD. The Lauing’s also received honors of the high selling yearling, Dash For Frenchman ( Colonel Frenchman X Diamond’s Teardrop) and the high selling bred mare, DL Miss Illuminator (Fenchmans Hickory X Watch Playboy Girl) bred to Colonel Frenchman for a 2015 foal. Lot 71, a 2009 Gray Broke Gelding (Lil Easy Feature X Comos Jazzy Freckles) of the Lauing’s sold for $5,600. The Lopez, Meyer & Lauing’s along with guest consigners wish to thank everyone for attending and purchasing from the sale and look forward to seeing everyone at the 40th Annual Sale in 2015.

  2009 Armstrong Performance Horse Sale

Lauing Mill Iron L Ranch was personally invited to the Armstrong Performance Horse Sale in LaMesa New Mexico in September 2009 hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Joe Armstrong. 2005 Comos Watch Playboy (Comos Cottoneye X Watch Playboy Girl) captured highest selling broke gelding purchased by JT Prichard. Lauing Mill Iron L Ranch also captured the high selling mare, Comos Playboys Lydia (Comos Cottoneye X Playboys Lydia) in foal to a 2010 foal by Lil Easy Feature and second highest broke gelding Frenchmans Playboy (Frenchmans Hickory X Playboys Lydia).
